How are these estimates calculated?
This is a modelled estimate of where a family may sit in the wealth distribution—not a government count, audited ranking, or personalised financial advice.
We compare family net worth, not individual wealth. The model assumes about 2 billion global families (8 billion people ÷ 4) and 280 million Indian families (1.4 billion ÷ 5).
A Pareto curve approximates the thinner, higher-wealth end of the distribution and estimates the minimum net worth associated with each top-percentile tier.
The curves are calibrated so ₹6.3 crore (about $662K at ₹95.17 per USD) is approximately top 1% in India and top 5% globally.
Percentile runs from 0 to 100, with higher meaning wealthier. “Wealthier than 90%” means the model places your family above roughly 90 out of 100 families.
Checking the live USD/INR rate. If it is unavailable, the calculator uses a ₹95.17 per USD fallback.
Results are indicative and sensitive to the assumptions above. They are for context only, not financial, tax, or investment advice.
Your family ranks in the top — globally and the top — in India.
